The first tables of the summer season have been published.  Check out the Summer League page to catch up with the latest.

Our summer league starts tomorrow with the country bathed in sunshine and the temperature soaring.  Could this be an indication of what we can expect for the next 14 weeks?   No, of course not.  But good luck to everyone and here’s to some great tennis whatever the weather does! 

For the first time in the league’s history we have an all male committee.  Not only can this mean too many testosterone-fuelled arguments but it could also mean that decisions are made for all the leagues with no direct experience of one third of the league.  Not a healthy situation.  The duties of a committee member are to attend two meetings a year (yes, only 2!) and answer a few e-mails.  Please consider volunteering  yourself,  or if you know someone in your club who you think would do a good job,  remind them that the only way we can continue to provide an enjoyable, competitive league is if everyone looks for ways to help with the running of it.   

Thanks for your patience - the final results and tables and now available.    Congratulations to Swindon A on winning Division 1, David Lloyd A on winning Division 2, Purton B (Div 3),  David Lloyd B (Div 4) and Lechlade B (Div 5).

A long and difficult season with the real winner being everyone who managed to get their matches played despite the snow and prevailing weather conditions. 

This year’s presentation evening will take place at the Memorial Hall,  Wootton Bassett on Saturday Nov 6th, 2010.

This year Richard has stepped down as League Match Secretary after many years of organising the league with matchless efficiency.  Everyone whose enjoyment of league tennis was heightened by knowing that the results and tables would arrive, without fail, in their inbox every Monday,  has a lot to thank him for.

Malcolm Gayfer is the brave man who is stepping into his shoes and has already showed he is going to take the league ever forward with his on-line results service.
