Winter League organiser, Roger Henry, writes…..

Well, once again we managed to complete the Winter League before the Summer league starts but only just!

Congratulations to the division winners and commiserations with whose who didn’t perform quite as well.  Hopefully everyone had some enjoyable tennis. Both league winners and runners up will be promoted with the bottom two teams in leagues 1 to 4 being relegated providing there is no league restructuring due to teams withdrawing and new teams entering. 

WANTED - A New Winter League Organiser. This will be my last year of running this Winter League. I started many years ago when my wife, Isobel, first set up a local midweek floodlit league with just a few teams but when the Wiltshire County weekend league collapsed I agreed to amalgamate the two. This has expanded every year and we now have 35 teams competing.  As yet we have not had a volunteer step forward so please give it some thought as we don’t want to see Winter Tennis cease. I’m happy to talk to anyone who might be interested to explain that it is not difficult nor very time consuming.
